"With a long-time exposure and a special reproduction-process afterwards, the works of A.Steckhan create an unreal, almost mysterious effect, with traces of light and strange, intense colours. "The photographs are not taken just by chance, infact they are the product of a controlled experiment with accidential influences." (A.Steckhan) Each work consists of fragments, which appear like videostills: moving, abstract, and enigmatic. This David-Lynch-like atmosphere is particularly strong in her latest work "CCTV-Liverpool Station": Nearly abstract seems the view through old ornaments onto the new architecture of the city outside the station, then suddenly you discover two CCTV-cameras..."
